MPD has a number of significant benefits, such as, safer drilling through small pressure windows, kick minimisation (through constant BHP), early kick detection and reductions in NPT by allowing fewer and deeper casing strings to be set. The economic benefits are considerable but the technology brings additional costs and subsurface risks that have to be actively managed.

Well Site Coaching, Training and Mentoring
Salos have extensive experience of working with MPD service companies and operator and contractor drilling teams to prepare them for effective operations at the well site. Utilising our MPD training modules and performance coaching systems we implement a structured approach to integrate and optimise MPD operations at the well site whilst staying within the parameters of the drilling programme.
A key aspect of our approach is our scenario planning and testing tools which accelerates the crews' understanding of the well specific challenges they may face and ensures that they are ready to respond quickly and appropriately.
